About Me

Therapy can be a journey towards deeper self-compassion and understanding. And sometimes that starts with open-hearted not-knowing. Whether you have had decades of previous treatment or are seeking care for the first time, I work with people wanting to know and support themselves more. Clients I see walk through wide varieties of circumstances that bring them into therapy. I work with people who cope with anxiety, low mood, childhood trauma, painful transitions, boundary setting challenges, career shifts, identity questions, expanding family, grief, body image issues and eating disorders. I focus on expansion of self-care; I can help people challenge, with curiosity and humor, the painful patterns and beliefs they wish to change.

There is a freedom that comes from examining how past interpersonal experiences inform present relationships. I think examining how privilege, race and structurally oppressive systems inform beliefs and behaviors is critical to holistic healing. I often incorporate mindfulness skills to better facilitate the ability to ground when distressed.

It takes courage to begin therapy. With compassionate inquiry, I find that individuals are more empowered to identify what is within their control, even if those changes start small. I look forward to hearing what's on your mind.
